You Can Do It

I may not have the ability to write something as charming and moving as the authors of Little Women, Redeeming Love, or even our beloved characters from Marvel comics, but there is certainly something to admire within the pages of those books and the scenes within those movies.

I’ve often marveled at the ability of someone to take a blank canvas and turn it into a work of art. Whether that be blank pages for an upcoming book, a storyboard for a new movie idea, or a fresh white canvas ready for inspiration to be

painted upon it.

I believe the success of art, whatever kind of art it may be, is contingent upon how it touches the hearts of others.

I’m a huge movie buff! So, I’m all up for movies taken me to different universes that are perhaps far greater than my own at the time, but the movies that move me, and feel relatable are the ones that stay with me. They bring me laughter, hope, and the wonderful gift of inspiration.

Perhaps this is why the vision I have of writing songs, books, movie scripts, or anything that could have the capacity of helping others, is so appealing to me. Like I said before, I’m not sure I would call myself a writer. To be honest, I tend to write more for my own therapy, but I share it sometimes in hopes that it will encourage someone else.

However, I will say that I’m a woman willing and desiring to create for a purpose. The joy of creating is not only found in the process of finishing the piece, but in the message that is conveyed through the piece and how that message can touch someone’s life.

Those who can actually paint would find my attempts at painting comical because I’m obviously not a painter. And no, I will not be posting any pictures of theses paintings lol. I’ve tried it for my own therapy and just for the sake of trying. I’ve mostly painted trees, leaves, and flowers that didn’t necessarily turn out very well. Although they never came out perfect, I’ve come to find that that is what’s so compelling about expressing one’s self through art.

Is it ever truly perfect? A true artist would never say yes. Therefore, it takes the pressure off. No need for perfectionism just the itch to tell a story, share some inspiration, or encourage a soul in need.

I say all of this to say, I hope to maybe one day open up my own studio. This studio would have all the bells and whistles per se. Singers, writers, filmmakers, photographers, dancers, and maybe more could come and create with one goal in mind, to impact others for the sake of building God’s Kingdom. All creative minds pointing to the ultimate creator and sustainer of life.

I’m not sure if this desire will ever come to be a reality, but if creating brings you joy I encourage you to work on your craft. Even if it’s never published, hung in a museum, or award, the gifts God has given you matters. You may never know the exhortation your work of art could bring to someone at just the right moment.

Maybe you love interior designing, cooking, building, arranging flowers, fashion, or playing an instrument, but what joy would it bring to do that for others. To bring others hope on behalf of the name of Jesus. I know it to be true that there is no greater joy or fulfillment than creating for Him.

Maybe you feel the same way. You have this desire, but you’re not sure where to start. Well, I can promise you that that makes two of us. You’re not alone my love. You’re capable, able, beautiful, and oh so talented. God, Himself creates beautiful every morning and every night. We are beautiful and wonderfully made in His image, therefore we too are able to create. That goes for those who want to create and feel like they have no artistic ability whatsoever.

You do. Plain and simple you too are widely gifted. You are uniquely gifted as those around you.

The question is who will use what the Lord has given them to love Him more and bring others to know Him?

You’ve got this! Praying God gives us both courage and wisdom to live for Him and use what He’s given us to show others His love, goodness, and forgiveness.

I’m proud of you and always rooting for you in my little corner of the world.

Loving Endearingly,

Lo
