Be A Little Dreamer

If you can’t tell, this precious little human being is singing, playing her guitar, and giving a concert to her best-stuffed animals.

My sweet little friend, you inspired me today. Thank you :)

As I looked at this picture, my mind drifted back to a time when I was little. I played with my stuffed animals, sang all the time, and had the dream of becoming a professional singer or a professional ice skater. The dream of becoming an ice skater quickly dissipated when I realized I had ridiculously flat feet, and it hurt to ice skate. Soooo, becoming a professional singer was the winner!

As my mind played with images from so many years ago, I was brought back to a place I missed.

I miss living in the freedom to pretend and be anything I wanted to be. I miss the freedom of getting excited over little things, belly laughing till I hurt, and enjoying endless days of summer with my best friends.

Does anyone else miss this? Does anyone else miss the days when you felt the freedom to dream?

I thought it very fitting and so much like God to use a sweet child to help us all remember something important.

I encourage you, as well as myself, to never stop reaching for your dreams. Never stop living in that place of freedom to dream big with God because He dreams big for you. Never let the fear of failure, the fear of the unknown, the fear of not being good enough, or the fear that someone else can do it better than you, stop you.

You are gifted.

You are chosen.

You are free.

You are free to talk with Jesus, listen to the Holy Spirit and watch as He miraculously opens doors and lovingly closes doors. He KNOWS you. Therefore, He knows how He’s specifically created you to bless His people and share the Good News with the world.

Maybe you have absolutely no clue in the world what you’re called to do, or what your dreams are. Maybe, you’ve tried so many things in hopes of figuring out what it is, but you think it's gotten you nowhere. Maybe you just can’t find the one thing worth fighting for or worth working hard for.

My friend, I hear your frustrations, and I see your tears. I know because I’ve been there, and I have asked those same questions. I know you’re struggling, and it’s frustrating because you feel clueless… I want to encourage you to hang on. Grab unto the hope that Jesus has not forgotten you because He hasn't, and remember that you have a MASSIVE part to play in the Kingdom of God.

Regardless of what our day jobs end up being, we are ultimately called to Love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves.

(Luke 10:27)

That is worth fighting for, living for, and worth working hard for.

You, my dear, are called to LOVE.

As you go about your day, ask God for opportunities to love Him and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

- As you work, love and serve your co-workers by making coffee.

- As you sit at home bored, love a friend by just checking in and texting them

- As you pick up all the Cheerios from off the ground, love the little hands that put them

there because they won’t always be little.

- As you vacuum up dog hair off your couch for the 100th time, love the days you have with

your furry best friend

- As you serve on Sunday, show some love and kindness by welcoming a guest

For the sake of Jesus, the Good News, the Gospel, and for lives being eternally saved, love God and love people.

Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

As you serve, go to school, go to work, live your dream, clean your house, walk your dog, serve your husband, and help your kids, God will show you the gifts He’s given you and give you a desire to serve Him and bless His people in amazing ways.

To those who know what you’re called to do and know what your dreams are, I implore you to keep going. I know the days are long and the process seems slow at times, but take a deep breath and move a little further.

Keep being obedient.

Keep pointing people to Jesus.

Keep spreading the Good News.

Keep creating, thinking, planning, and praying.

Keep cheering yourself on.

With God’s strength, His goodness, and His capacity. with his wisdom, and His grace, you can do this.

You. Can. Do. This.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just trust the one who already has it all planned out.

Trust God. Trust God. And trust God again. He’s got you.

To my lovely little friend with the most joyful and sparkliest spirit. Thank you for inspiring us all.

Loving Enduringly,

Lo
