A Prayer for all Wives

I am praying; God will grant you with stronger confidence to believe the truth that you are who He says you are. First and foremost, you are His beloved, His child. You, my dear, are already deeply and utterly loved by the King of Kings. Before anyone had the honor of taking your hand in marriage, you were already beautifully known, deeply loved, and endlessly forgiven.

If you’ve ever experienced sleepless nights wondering if you had what it took to love your spouse, I am praying for you at this moment, believing God has given you every tool to love your husband. By His grace and goodness, God has given you every tool to love your spouse well with patience, love, compassion, understanding, and sacrifice.

However, perfectionism is not the goal. In case you haven’t heard it in a while, “you are enough,” just you. I pray God will give you a new profound confidence in believing that you are becoming the Child of God and wife God always desired for you to be. It’s okay that you’re not always perfect. It’s okay that you forget things that might be important. It’s okay to be beautifully human, which makes you beautifully flawed. You won’t always get it right, but that doesn’t make you a failure; that makes you a learner. Learn, pray, receive grace, take another step and try again.

Remember, In your weakness, God is strong. My dear, God is strong. He wants so much for you and the life you share with your husband. God wants your life to be full of Godly freedom, love, joy and to participate in sharing the Good News with a dying world. You are the undeniable picture of Christ’s steadfast love for His bride, the church. I’m sure it may not always feel like it, but that is an honor. It’s an honor to reflect the Father’s steadfast and sacrificial love He showed us when He died on the cross for our sins and rose again.

I won’t sit here and try to pretend that I don’t wish I was more like you. To carry the title of a wife, I must say, would be a dream come true. However, instead of wishing, I was one too, I wanted to pray over you. The enemy, Satan, cannot have you or your marriage in Jesus Name. My sweet sister in Christ you, have already won because we serve the Victor. We serve the champion, the King, and the ruler of every living and breathing thing. I am praying such a battle prayer over you that God will draw you closer to Himself so that you in return can love your husbands well and serve those around you together. I desire for you to have such Godly peace over your souls and such dedication to love and serve God more as well as; loving your husbands.
